House exterior painting?

I got a price from a contractor for two coats of solid-stain, going on cedar sidings previousely coverd with solid stain of a different color. He has sprayed and rolled on it right after one time.

Now he is telling me that this process is equal, if no more than the so called two coats job. He is saying that by spraying you are putting a lot more on the wall, and covering much better. He says that I should be concerned about the end result.

Is that right. Is there a merit to what he is saying.

Sounds reasonable, if he is a professional he should know what he’s doing. My experiences with spraying have been good.

Yes, he has merit. I work for a remodeling company and I saw your question and I asked our painter. He said absolutely… unless you visually see an issue then he isn’t giving you the runaround. He also said a good spray job looks more even and lasts longer.

He’s telling you the truth. I consulted with my favorite painting contractor, and he said spraying is a lot better and more cost effective than brushing.
