Interior Painting—- Sealer? eco paint?

I am chemically sensitive and it took me a long time to find a good paint to use. I found Dunn-Edwards Eco paint.

The problem is I want the interior of my house painted and painter came over today to give me a quote. He said in different areas of the house (like the windows) he would have to use a “Sealer”. Is this the same thing as a primer?

I called Dunn Edwards about a Sealer eco paint and the lady didn’t know what a sealer was. lol

I am just wondering if a sealer will smell worse than regular paint?

Thanks

sealer is primer, or a thinned primer. It acts as a barrier and fills imperfections and pores in a porous surface(wood). In most cases the primer/sealer has little or no scent at all, and is basically just a step to get the desired color and coverage out of your paint
